About The Position

We are seeking three full-time Nurse Practitioners (NPs) or Physician Assistants (PAs) for our Urgent Care clinics. This is a locum position with the potential to become permanent. The clinics operate 7 days a week from 8 AM to 8 PM, and providers are expected to manage all patients presenting during operational hours. Patient care is 100% outpatient, covering a comprehensive range from birth to end-of-life, with an average patient volume of 25-50 patients per day, potentially increasing during cold and flu season. Cases requiring higher acuity will be redirected to emergency departments.

Requirements

Board Certified
Active Virginia state license
Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification
Active DEA registration
Minimum of 1 year of experience in ED/ER, primary care, or urgent care
Clean background with no malpractice or licensing issues
Candidates must be local or provide inclusive rates as travel costs are excluded by client policy.

Responsibilities

Perform laceration repairs (simple to complex).
Perform incision and drainage (including packing).
Remove foreign bodies.
Manage minor burns.
Provide skin lesion care.
Stabilize orthopedic injuries (including splinting and casting).
Perform joint reductions.
Conduct diagnostic and point-of-care testing.
Interpret X-rays.
Evaluate Electrocardiograms (EKGs).
Interpret point-of-care laboratory results (rapid strep, flu, COVID-19, RSV, urinalysis, blood glucose).
Manage epistaxis (anterior nasal packing, chemical cautery).
Remove cerumen impaction.
Provide airway support (administer nebulizer treatments, initial emergency stabilization).
