About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Nurse Manager II for the Operating Room at a confidential healthcare client in San Francisco, CA. This leadership role is responsible for managing daily OR operations, supervising clinical and support staff, and ensuring exceptional patient outcomes and safety standards. The successful candidate will drive continuous improvement initiatives, maintain regulatory compliance, and foster a collaborative clinical environment. Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited institution
  • Current, active RN license in California
  • Minimum 5 years of nursing experience, with at least 3 years in OR nursing
  • Minimum 2 years of management or supervisory experience in a healthcare setting
  • Demonstrated knowledge of OR operations, surgical procedures, and patient safety standards
  • Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills
  • Proficiency with electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare management systems
  • ACLS certification required
  • Valid California RN license
  • Current ACLS certification
  • Minimum 3 years of OR nursing experience
  • Minimum 2 years of management or supervisory experience
  • Ability to work onsite in San Francisco, CA

  • Master's degree in Nursing, Business Administration (MBA), or Healthcare Management
  • CNOR (Certified Nurse Operating Room) certification
  • Experience with Lean/Six Sigma or other continuous improvement methodologies

Responsibilities

  • Oversee daily operations of the Operating Room, including scheduling, staffing, and resource allocation
  • Supervise and mentor nursing staff and surgical technicians, providing performance feedback and professional development opportunities
  • Ensure compliance with Joint Commission standards, safety protocols, and infection prevention procedures
  • Monitor surgical case outcomes, quality metrics, and key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement
  • Manage OR budget, supply chain, and equipment maintenance
  • Collaborate with surgeons, anesthesiologists, and other clinical departments to optimize surgical workflows
  • Respond to critical incidents and implement corrective action plans
  • Maintain accurate records and reporting for regulatory and accreditation purposes
