The Southeast Regional Manager works within the SD-DOH's Division of Disease Prevention and Control (DPC) and provides leadership, supervision, and operational oversight for the Sioux Falls regional office. This position directly supervises nine staff of Disease Intervention Specialists (DIS) and Community Health Workers (CHW) who provide public health services related to vaccine-preventable diseases, HIV, sexually transmitted infections (STIs), tuberculosis, zoonotic diseases, and other emerging infectious diseases and public health threats. This position coordinates regional public health activities with DPC program managers, epidemiologists, and fellow Regional Managers to ensure consistent implementation of statewide programs and priorities. Additionally, the Regional Manager provides public health consultation and guidance to healthcare providers, tribal partners and local agencies, businesses, and other community partners to support disease prevention and response efforts across southeastern South Dakota. Responsibilities include overseeing regional operations and administrative functions, supporting staff development and performance, ensuring quality assurance and compliance with program requirements, coordinating outbreak response activities, and helping ensure public health needs are effectively addressed throughout the region. This is a full-time position that requires occasional in-state and out-of-state travel.
