About The Position

Cedar Hill Regional Medical Center GW Health is the first new full-service hospital in Washington, DC in more than 20 years, integrating clinical care with existing community providers, Federally Qualified Health Centers (FQHC’s), The George Washington University Hospital, and our Urgent Care Center in Ward 8. This integrated delivery system is a robust network of care for all District residents, but more importantly, it ensures that residents of Wards 7 and 8 have access to high quality care in their community. This full-service hospital includes 136 beds (with the ability to expand to 184 beds), a verified trauma center, adult and pediatric emergency departments, maternal health and newborn delivery, an ambulatory pavilion for clinic visits and other outpatient services, a 500-car garage, and a helipad for emergency transport. We are seeking an experienced Dialysis Nurse Manager (Full-Time) to lead operations at our outpatient dialysis center. The ideal candidate will oversee daily clinical and administrative functions to ensure safe, efficient, and high-quality patient care. Responsibilities include supervising and supporting staff, coordinating dialysis treatment schedules, monitoring and maintaining quality standards, and providing education and guidance to patients and families. This role requires strict adherence to regulatory requirements, strong leadership skills, and a high level of clinical expertise in nephrology nursing to promote optimal patient outcomes and operational excellence.

Requirements

  • DC RN License required
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) required
  • Have at least 12 months of experience in clinical nursing and an additional 6 months experience in providing nursing care to patients on maintenance dialysis.
  • Current BLS certification required

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or related field preferred
  • ACLS certification preferred
  • Certified Dialysis Nurse (CDN) or Certified Nephrology Nurse (CNN) preferred

Responsibilities

  • Oversees daily operations of the dialysis program, ensuring safe, high-quality patient care
  • Manages staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation to meet patient needs and treatment volumes
  • Leads, coaches, and evaluates dialysis nursing and technical staff to support clinical excellence and professional development
  • Ensures compliance with regulatory and accreditation standards (e.g., CMS Conditions for Coverage, state regulations, infection control guidelines)
  • Monitors quality metrics (e.g., infection rates, treatment adequacy, patient outcomes) and drives performance improvement initiatives
  • Collaborates with nephrologists and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate and optimize patient care plans
  • Oversees inventory, equipment maintenance, and supply management for dialysis services
  • Manages departmental budget, productivity, and cost control measures
  • Supports recruitment, retention, and staff engagement strategies
  • Promotes adherence to evidence-based practices, patient safety standards, and infection prevention protocols
  • Addresses patient, family, and staff concerns in a timely and professional manner
  • Ensures staff competency, ongoing education, and required certifications are maintained
