About The Position

Baylor St. Luke’s Medical Center is seeking a Manager of Perioperative Services to provide comprehensive leadership and operational oversight for all perioperative phases, ensuring safe, high-quality, and efficient surgical care. This role optimizes patient outcomes and staff performance. The manager will oversee multidisciplinary teams, optimize surgical schedules, manage resource allocation, and implement best practices to enhance quality, safety, and efficiency. Responsibilities include monitoring financial performance, ensuring regulatory compliance, and driving continuous improvement. The ideal candidate will have extensive perioperative clinical/leadership experience, a deep understanding of surgical processes, and exceptional interpersonal/problem-solving skills. The ability to inspire staff, manage challenges, and align services strategically is crucial for fostering excellence and achieving superior surgical outcomes. The role involves coordinating patient flow throughout perioperative services, serving as a clinical resource for problem-solving, and assisting staff with patient-related issues. The manager will also act as a role model for staff competence in nursing care delivery and be responsible for cost-effective operations, including product evaluation, waste prevention, materials management, patient flow, overtime control, and appropriate staff mix. The ability to provide direct surgical patient care as needed is also required.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's Degree
  • Minimum of 3 years leadership experience, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse, upon hire
  • Registered Nurse: TX, upon hire
  • Basic Life Support - CPR, within 14 days

Nice To Haves

  • 4-6 years or minimum of 5 years leadership experience in the discipline, upon hire
  • Masters
  • No experience (if Masters degree is obtained)

  • Responsible for cost effective operations and initiatives, including product evaluation, prevention of waste & damage, materials management, patient flow, control of overtime, & appropriate staff mix.
  • Provide safe, quality care directly to a surgical patient as needed.
