About The Position

To provide and perform advanced and professional social services work including conciliation services and parent awareness instruction: assist in, program development and coordination of resource services activities within the family court judicial process. The LPN receives direct supervision by the facility manager or assistant facility manager.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited licensed practical nurse program
  • Current state Licensed Practical Nursing (LPN) licensure
  • Six months of experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse in a clinical setting.
  • Minimum age requirement is 25 years old.
  • Ability to attain valid certification to instruct in first aid/CPR procedures and medical certification and provide proof of such.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct general medical assessments of youth which involves taking vital signs, administering screenings, administering, and interpreting tests (such as urinalysis and TB), and developing health history.
  • Assess specific medical illness, complaint, injury, or need of youth to determine condition, which may involve examinations.
  • Administer medication, and/or care and treatment in accordance with approved nursing techniques, which may involve referral to a physician, hospital, or clinic.
  • Order and monitor medical supplies, equipment, and medication.
  • Travel to hospitals, or clinics for test results, prescriptions, and other matters.
  • Keep abreast of public health requirements and current medical trends and developments.
  • Maintain all documentation associated with medication administration.
  • Order medications from pharmacies, and per physician’s orders.
  • Prepare and maintain health histories and all related medical records.
  • Provide Medication Aide Certification training to ensure competency of staff to administer and document medications, recognize adverse reactions, etc.
  • May package and dispense prescription medication.
  • Confer with physicians, hospital staff, and other health professionals regarding youth’s health and coordinate all aspects of health care needs.
  • Discuss health care needs or medical condition of youth with parents/guardians, and case management officers, to ensure proper follow-up care and medical concerns/interventions.
  • Schedule medical appointments and clinics and assist physicians during treatment or examination.
  • Perform other duties as required.
