Summer 2027 Nurse Internship

Allina Health•Minneapolis, MN
•Onsite

About The Position

Allina Health is hiring summer nurse interns for a paid, ten-week internship offering more than 300 hours of hands-on clinical experience under the guidance of one-on-one RN preceptors. The internship is intended for students enrolled in a baccalaureate RN program and is completed during the summer before graduation. Interns develop technical nursing skills, clinical judgment, critical thinking, confidence in patient care, and communication and teamwork skills to support their transition into professional nursing practice. The program runs June 7 through August 13, 2027, and requires participation for the full ten weeks. The work schedule is 0.8 FTE, or 64 hours in a two-week pay period, and mirrors the assigned preceptor's schedule. Interns must be available for day, evening, night, or rotating shifts; weekends; and 4-, 8-, or 12-hour shifts. The specific schedule will be determined when the intern is matched with a preceptor in May 2027. This is a temporary internship and is not benefit eligible. Internship placements may be available across inpatient units at Allina Health's 12 hospital campuses, with more limited opportunities in emergency, intensive care, and obstetrics. Allina hospitals primarily serve adult patients and do not have neonatal, pediatric, or special care nursery units. The hourly rate is a flat, non-negotiable $23.00; shift, weekend, or other differentials may be available for certain shifts or work.
