About The Position
As a Nurse Extern, you will develop your nursing skills through a partnership with an experienced Registered Nurse and gain hands-on experience performing direct patient care. Under the direction of a Registered Nurse, the Nurse Extern participates in assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation for healthcare consumers. The role emphasizes an extraordinary patient experience, compassionate care, and clinical excellence one patient at a time.
Requirements
- Experience with nursing fundamentals in a lab and/or clinical setting, evidenced by completed nursing fundamentals skill check-off.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation credential.
Responsibilities
- Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the healthcare consumer’s health or situation under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Identify expected outcomes for a plan individualized to the healthcare consumer or situation.
- Develop a plan prescribing strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes.
- Implement the identified plan under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
