About The Position
As a Nurse Extern, you will develop nursing skills through a partnership with an experienced Registered Nurse and gain hands-on experience performing direct patient care. Under the direction of the Registered Nurse, the Nurse Extern contributes to assessment, diagnosis, outcomes identification, planning, implementation, and evaluation while providing an extraordinary patient experience, compassionate care, and clinical excellence one patient at a time.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Experience with nursing fundamentals in a lab and/or clinical setting, evidenced by a completed nursing fundamentals skill check-off.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation credential.
Responsibilities
- Collect comprehensive data pertinent to the healthcare consumer’s health or situation under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Analyze assessment data to determine diagnoses or issues under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Identify expected outcomes for an individualized plan of care under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Develop a plan that prescribes strategies and alternatives to attain expected outcomes under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Implement the identified plan under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
- Evaluate progress toward attainment of outcomes under the direction of a Registered Nurse.
