About The Position

The Rankin School of Nursing invites applications for a Nurse Educator (12-month limited term appointments) to commence August 24, 2026. This position is subject to final budgetary approval. The position responsibilities include clinical supervision of nursing students in our undergraduate nursing programs in a variety of healthcare settings, our simulation centre, and our nursing labs. In addition, the Nurse Educator will contribute to academic and professional service within the school. Requirements

  • Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses, as a Registered Nurse, without terms, limitations or conditions.
  • A baccalaureate degree in nursing.
  • A minimum of five years clinical experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing.
  • A demonstrated commitment to professional nursing and an ability to work collaboratively with others.
  • The requirements to attend clinical placements with students, including current health-care provider level CPR, completed immunizations, and a certified child abuse register and vulnerable sector check verification.

Nice To Haves

  • Master’s degree in Nursing.
  • Relevant teaching experience at the undergraduate level is an asset.

Responsibilities

  • Clinical supervision of nursing students in undergraduate nursing programs in healthcare settings, simulation centre, and nursing labs.
  • Contribute to academic and professional service within the school.
  • Support student orientation to clinical settings.
  • Provide direct and indirect clinical supervision.
  • Deliver course content.
  • Administer and evaluate assignments.
  • Assess skill and competency of students.
  • Participate in school meetings.
  • Hold regular office hours for students.
