About The Position

This is a temporary, 12-week position at HRI Hospital, a 66-bed psychiatric facility with adult inpatient services and several partial hospitalization programs. HRI Hospital is part of the largest private mental health system in Massachusetts, offering competitive salaries, benefits, and growth opportunities. The Nurse Educator is responsible for promoting, planning, designing, coordinating, and evaluating hospital-wide training and educational activities. This role aims to improve staff retention by providing on-site training and education, serving as a liaison for hospital and agency staff, and maintaining required educational and/or clinical competencies.

Requirements

• MA RN License
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing Education
• 1 Year of nursing education experience required

Nice To Haves

• Masters level board certified nurse educator preferred
• 2 years Inpatient psychiatric nursing experience preferred

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and evaluates programs based on the results of an annual survey of educational needs and to meet the needs of orientation, skills training, leadership and management training, and continuing education.
• Teaches and/or coordinates in-service presentations relevant to the identified learning needs of the staff.
• Maintains knowledge about patient care at all levels by making rounds, attending staff meetings, and serving on appropriate committees; serves as a resource for psychiatric/medical care issues.
• Provides coverage on units based on hospital needs and other related duties as required, including Nursing supervisor coverage.
• Effectively coordinates on-going staff education by floating to all units and providing real-time education throughout the day.
