About The Position

The Rankin School of Nursing invites applications for a part-time Nurse Educator to support one (1) clinical group of N309 (three-credits) to commence October 26, 2026. This position is subject to final budgetary approval. The position responsibilities include clinical supervision of nursing students in our undergraduate nursing programs in a variety of healthcare settings, our simulation centre, and our nursing labs. In addition, the Nurse Educator will contribute to academic and professional service within the school. Course Number and Title: NURS 309 – Care of Persons Experiencing Acute, Episodic & Life-Threatening Illness across the Life Span. Course Start and End Dates: October 26, 2026 - December 1, 2026. Class Schedule: Clinical days are Mondays and Tuesdays. The Nurse Educator will support one clinical group in the semester. Specific details related to dates and location are to be determined. Delivery Mode: In-person. Locations include on-campus and in our partnering healthcare facilities (in North and East Nova Scotia).

Requirements

• Current registration with the Nova Scotia College of Nurses, as a Registered Nurse, without terms, limitations or conditions
• A baccalaureate degree in nursing
• A minimum of five years clinical experience in Medical/Surgical Nursing
• A demonstrated commitment to professional nursing and an ability to work collaboratively with others
• The requirements to attend clinical placements with students, including current health-care provider level CPR, completed immunizations, and a certified child abuse register and vulnerable sector check verification

Nice To Haves

• A Master’s degree in Nursing.
• Relevant teaching experience at the undergraduate level is an asset.

Responsibilities

• Clinical supervision of nursing students in a variety of healthcare settings, simulation centre, and nursing labs.
• Contribute to academic and professional service within the school.
• Support student orientation to clinical settings.
• Provide direct and indirect clinical supervision.
• Deliver course content.
• Administer and evaluate assignments.
• Assess skill and competency of students throughout the program.
• Participate in school meetings.
• Hold regular office hours for students.
