About The Position

This position coordinates the Minimum Data Set (MDS) system according to CMS certification and licensure standards on all residents. Coordinates and serves as Team Leader for the Treatment Team on the assigned unit. Serves as teaching role as needed to maintain skills for clinical disciplines on MDS and care planning. This position is considered mandatory, which means employees are required to report to work during adverse weather and emergency conditions. Longleaf Neuro-Medical Treatment Center (LNMTC), located in Wilson, NC, is a state-operated certified Skilled Nursing Facility (SNF). With a staff of about 520, LNMTC provides support to approximately 200 residents with complex medical needs and/or co-existing neuro-cognitive disorders. THIS POSITION IS DESIGNATED MANDATORY AND MUST REPORT OR STAY OVER DURING ADVERSE WEATHEREVENTS OR OTHER EMERGENCIES.

Requirements

  • Licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina
  • One year of experience in the area of specialization.
  • Ability to assess and make nursing diagnosis based on scientific principles.
  • Knowledge of principles and practices of professional nursing.
  • Ability to communicate and relate to residents with communication deficits in a therapeutic manner.
  • Knowledge of Pharmacology.
  • Possess leadership ability.
