About The Position
The River Hospital Inpatient Unit is seeking per diem Nurse Assistants. The position attends to patients’ specific daily needs as delegated by the Charge Nurse and performs clerical duties under the Charge Nurse’s supervision. The role may involve regular day, evening, night, and weekend shifts and potential exposure to blood and other infectious body substances. Employees must be able to bend, lift, stand, and walk, and possess the physical ability to perform CPR.
Requirements
- High school graduate or equivalent.
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
- Ability to bend, lift, stand, and walk.
- Physical ability to perform CPR.
Nice To Haves
- Previous patient care experience as a Nurse Aide/Assistant or equivalent is highly preferred.
- Current BLS certification within 60 days of hire.
Responsibilities
- Attend to specific daily needs of patients as delegated by the Charge Nurse.
- Perform clerical duties under the supervision of the Charge Nurse.
- Comply with requirements outlined by the New York State Office of Professions for the applicable profession.
- Notify the employer of the status of any certification or licensure issue or potential issue.
