About The Position

The Registered Nurse provides professional nursing care to patients within an assigned unit. The role includes patient assessments, planning, supervision, interventions, and evaluations designed to prevent complications of physical disability, restore optimal functioning, and help patients adapt to an altered lifestyle. The nurse integrates the hospital’s mission and “Guiding Principles” into daily practice. Weekend and weekday shifts are available at Corpus Christi Rehabilitation Hospital in Corpus Christi, Texas.

Requirements

Successful completion of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
Current state Registered Nurse license.
Current CPR certification.
Knowledge of current nursing theory and practice, infection control, and wound care standards.
Knowledge of accreditation standards and adherence to standards set by state agencies, The Joint Commission (TJC), and the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS).
Knowledge of clinical operations and procedures, and use of applicable policies, procedures, and guidelines in patient care.
Critical thinking skills.
General computer skills, including data entry, word processing, email, and record management.
Organizational and time-management skills.
Written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Ability to work closely and professionally with others.
Ability to maintain quality, safety, and infection-control standards.

Nice To Haves

Bachelor of Science in Nursing degree.
One year of recent experience; experience in an acute care setting preferred.
ACLS certification, preferred in LTACH and Texas hospitals.
