About The Position

The Nurse Assistant works in the Medical Surgical department under the direct supervision of a Nurse. The role contributes to patient-centered care by performing selected day-to-day patient care activities and maintaining an environment that supports patient well-being. The Nurse Assistant demonstrates unit- or area-designated competencies and interacts with patients while considering their developmental, age-specific, cultural, and spiritual preferences.

The position is scheduled for 48 hours bi-weekly, with daily work times of 7:00 a.m. to 7:30 p.m. on the day shift.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• State Certified Nursing Assistant certification.
• One month of job-related experience and/or training.
• BLS certification required within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• One year of experience in a medical setting.

Responsibilities

• Perform specific patient care interventions delegated by the RN to help identify and attain treatment goals.
• Provide compassionate support, attention, and assistance to patients and families.
• Assist patients with daily activities and personal hygiene, including bathing, showering, feeding, dressing, getting out of bed, using the toilet, walking, standing, and exercising.
• Ensure compliance with health care regulations, including HIPAA and OSHA.
• Maintain a safe and clean working environment and protect patients and employees by following infection-control, hazardous-waste, and other policies and protocols.
• Perform other related job duties as requested.
