About The Position

The Medical Asst-Cert supports patient care by assisting with examinations, treatments, and clinical duties under the direction of a provider. The role contributes to efficient and effective care and a positive experience for patients and providers. The position is based at the St. Clair Shores office, which serves Detroit's east side and the Grosse Pointes.

Requirements

• Obtain BLS Provider certification within 1 month (30 days) of hire or job transfer; American Heart Association or American Red Cross certification is accepted.
• Obtain Medical Assistant certification within 3 months (90 days) of hire or job transfer; any issuing authority is accepted.
• High school diploma equivalency or 1 year of applicable cumulative job-specific experience.

Responsibilities

• Assist with treatments ordered by the provider under supervision.
• Interview patients, measure vital signs, and record information on patients' charts.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations.
• Perform basic clerical duties, including answering phones, maintaining records, and filing.
• Order and stock supplies, and maintain a clean and orderly environment.
• Document provider encounters, including diagnoses, symptoms, follow-up instructions, and prescriptions.
