Requirements

  • Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry
  • Six months of paid experience in the care and treatment of geriatric or physically ill patients or residents
  • Active registration as a Nurse Aide in the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry (required for long-term or specialized care facilities)
  • Ability to perform essential job functions
  • Satisfactory criminal history reports, including but not limited to, PA State Police and FBI clearance (required after conditional offer)
  • Medical examination and drug screening (required after conditional offer)

Responsibilities

  • Assist residents with hygiene, comfort, and daily needs to maintain a clean and safe environment
  • Support restorative programs that help residents reach their highest level of independence
  • Use therapeutic communication and respond to crises while acting as an advocate for residents
  • Contribute to treatment discussions and help maintain an orderly and sanitary living space
  • Teach and assist residents with tasks such as making beds, caring for belongings, and healthy eating habits
  • Report changes in resident condition or environment to supervisors to maintain consistent care
