About The Position

This position is responsible for preparing, maintaining, and reviewing Nuclear Operations procedures, including all aspects of procedure writing and development. The role reviews proposed changes to ensure procedures are technically accurate, applicable, and consistent with regulatory requirements and applicable Operations Writer's Guides, and can be implemented without adversely affecting plant, personnel, or equipment safety. The position gathers information from sources such as vendor manuals, references, prints, schematics, design documents, and the FSAR, and uses it to develop detailed, sequential instructions for safely operating or maintaining reactor plant equipment. It also develops procedures for administrative processes or programs, diagnoses procedure-related performance problems, and determines whether operational tasks can be addressed by existing procedures or require new ones. The procedure writer evaluates and revises procedure change requests, assesses their effects on existing requests, determines required reviews, resolves comments, and coordinates review and approval. The role also serves as a procedure-process subject-matter expert for non-dedicated writers at affected sites. Personal development and qualifications are expected to support operational needs; SRO Certification qualification must be achieved and maintained at the earliest opportunity when requested by the business. Fleet jobs support site operations, while site jobs support fleet operations, with shared accountability for meeting excellence plans.
