About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine PET/CT Technologist for a full-time, 1-year W-2 contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Long Beach, California. This is a stable weekday outpatient imaging role with strong benefits, predictable scheduling, and the opportunity to serve Veterans in a respected federal healthcare system.

Requirements

  • Current ARRT (N) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Board Certification
  • Experience starting IV, radiopharmaceutical injections, and contrast injections
  • At Least 2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT
  • Clean Malpractice History & Criminal Record

Nice To Haves

  • IV Certification Preferred
  • AGFA PACS Experience Preferred (Training provided as needed)

Responsibilities

  • Perform PET, PET/CT, SPECT, cardiac, and general nuclear medicine imaging procedures independently
  • Prepare, position, and educate patients while ensuring safety and comfort throughout imaging exams
  • Administer radiopharmaceuticals and contrast agents under radiologist supervision per VA protocols
  • Operate and maintain PET/CT and nuclear medicine imaging equipment and associated systems
  • Perform image acquisition, post-processing, and quality checks to ensure diagnostic accuracy
  • Maintain accurate documentation in VA systems including PACS, VistA Radiology, and CPRS
  • Prepare imaging suites, calibrate radiopharmaceuticals, and ensure proper supplies and equipment readiness
  • Follow all VA policies, radiation safety standards, and quality assurance requirements
  • Collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff to support efficient patient care delivery
