About The Position

We are seeking an experienced Nuclear Medicine PET/CT Technologist for a full-time, 1-year W-2 contract with the Department of Veterans Affairs in Long Beach, California. This is a stable weekday outpatient imaging role with strong benefits, predictable scheduling, and the opportunity to serve Veterans in a respected federal healthcare system.

Requirements

Current ARRT (N) and/or Nuclear Medicine Technology Board Certification
Experience starting IV, radiopharmaceutical injections, and contrast injections
At Least 2 years of experience in Nuclear Medicine and PET/CT
Clean Malpractice History & Criminal Record

Nice To Haves

IV Certification Preferred
AGFA PACS Experience Preferred (Training provided as needed)

Responsibilities

Perform PET, PET/CT, SPECT, cardiac, and general nuclear medicine imaging procedures independently
Prepare, position, and educate patients while ensuring safety and comfort throughout imaging exams
Administer radiopharmaceuticals and contrast agents under radiologist supervision per VA protocols
Operate and maintain PET/CT and nuclear medicine imaging equipment and associated systems
Perform image acquisition, post-processing, and quality checks to ensure diagnostic accuracy
Maintain accurate documentation in VA systems including PACS, VistA Radiology, and CPRS
Prepare imaging suites, calibrate radiopharmaceuticals, and ensure proper supplies and equipment readiness
Follow all VA policies, radiation safety standards, and quality assurance requirements
Collaborate with radiologists and clinical staff to support efficient patient care delivery
