This is a full-time position with a scheduled weekly hour of 40. The work shift is a day shift. The compensation range for this role is $40.40 - $52.52 per hour. Individual salaries will be determined by factors such as market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise, and internal equity.

Requirements

  • 1 year of relevant experience preferred Or equivalent combination of education and experience
  • CNMT - Certified Nuclear Med Tech by the Nuclear Medicine Technology Certification Board (NMTCB) upon hire required or CRT - Certified Radiologic Technologist Registered as a Radiologic Technologist (RT) upon hire required and NMT - Certified Nuclear Medicine Tech by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologist (ARRT) upon hire required
  • Maintenance of current NYS licensure required
  • BCLS - Basic Life Support Healthcare Provider certification upon hire required

Responsibilities

  • Trains and receives regular direct supervision or guidance from a more senior technologist while performing nuclear medicine studies in a safe and efficient manner, completing all associated paper and computer documentation while providing high quality images for radiologist interpretation.
  • Performs nuclear medicine imaging and therapy in accordance with applicable scope and standards of practice and with the policies, values, and mission of the organization.
  • Analyzes results and identifies issues with the quality of imaging results.
  • Takes appropriate action to resolve image quality issues, including repositioning patients and repeating procedures.
  • Enters, transmits, and reports scan results.
  • Ensures proper imaging techniques related to patients age and ability to understand procedure (sight, hearing needs, ability to cooperate) to ensure image quality is successfully obtained.
  • Reviews patient history and physician's orders.
  • Educates patient regarding procedures, equipment, and exams to ensure patient's understanding and cooperation.
  • Positions patient and performs imaging procedures.
  • Reviews patient information and interpretation of data to confirm an appropriate plan and intervention specific for age related needs and provision of care.
  • Orders, prepares, administers, stores and disposes of radiopharmaceuticals according to established protocols and applicable regulations/standards.
  • Monitors patient condition continually and reports/responds to changes in status as appropriate.
  • Maintains appropriate inventory of supplies in the clinical nuclear medicine rooms.
  • Other duties as assigned.
