Nuclear Medicine Fellowship 2027-2028
About The Position
Emory University’s Division of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging is offering a one-year PET combined clinical-research fellowship starting July 1, 2027. The fellowship combines clinical PET training with potential protected research time and opportunities to work with novel PET radiotracers. Clinical duties may include on-call responsibilities and coverage of a nuclear medicine service at an Emory teaching institution. Clinical responsibilities also include radionuclide therapy procedures using non-sealed sources. For a qualified candidate, a personalized program may be possible, including body imaging and general and cardiac nuclear medicine rotations. A second year of fellowship experience may be considered at the discretion of the Fellowship Director and Division Director. Research is required and tailored to the fellow’s long-term goals. Opportunities span clinical and basic research, including new PET and single-photon radiotracers, therapeutics, Y-90 microsphere therapy, and translational medicine. Protected research time and time to attend professional conferences may be available depending on clinical needs and research progress. The Division has nine full-time physicians and 12 dedicated research faculty across six translational and basic science laboratories. Affiliated departments have SPECT and SPECT/CT systems and specialized computer facilities. Emory’s imaging resources include a PET Center with two PET/CT scanners and a PET/MR, as well as PET/CT systems at multiple affiliated hospitals and the VA Medical Center. Research resources include dedicated research PET/CT, a preclinical micro PET/CT scanner, an in-vivo fluorescence imaging system, a cyclotron, radiochemistry services, and animal imaging laboratories. The Division collaborates with faculty in Radiology, Cardiology, and the Winship Cancer Institute. Position tasks are generally performed in person at an Emory University location. Remote-work options may be granted at the department’s discretion, and Emory may change remote-work status with notice.
Requirements
- Completed a nuclear medicine or radiology residency.
- Be board eligible or board certified by the American Board of Nuclear Medicine or the American Board of Radiology.
- Be eligible for an unrestricted license to practice medicine in the State of Georgia.
