About The Position

The Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences at Emory University School of Medicine offers a one-year fellowship in Emergency and Trauma Imaging. Four fellows are selected per year, with openings listed for the 2026–2027 and 2027–2028 fellowship years. Fellows gain comprehensive clinical experience interpreting imaging from the emergency departments of seven teaching hospitals, with cases interpreted from two central reading rooms. Emory University Healthcare provides emergency services to more than 250,000 patients annually. Clinical training includes emergent interpretation of CT, MR, ultrasound, and radiography in a high-volume, 24-7-365 environment. Fellows may customize their training to support clinical or academic career plans. Protected academic time of up to one day per week may be allotted for academic pursuits, and elective time in other subspecialty divisions may be explored. The Division of Emergency Radiology offers educational case conferences, M&M conferences, and a lecture series. Fellows also have teaching opportunities with medical and allied health students and residents, and receive a $2,500 professional development fund for educational materials or conference attendance.
