About The Position

FEP engineers work in a value-adding role while participating in a development program consisting of rotational assignments within outage services that build key technical and leadership competencies. Candidates will receive training from and work alongside industry experts to help improve their skills and knowledge on nuclear power processes and equipment. This program prepares the candidate to become an Outage Service engineer who will operate confidently and provide support for the successful execution of complex projects and activities.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in an engineering or technical discipline from an accredited university or college (engineering technology degrees accepted).
  • Overall GPA greater than or equal to 3.0 / 4.0.
  • Relocation to Wilmington, NC is required.
  • Ability and willingness to travel up to 70% to domestic plant sites.
  • Ability and willingness to work 12 hours/day, shifts, and 7 days/week when needed for project delivery.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude is required.
  • Must be able to read and understand equipment manuals, procedures, and work instructions.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to climb 10 flights of stairs twice per day.
  • Ability to pass respirator fit test and physical.
  • Ability to pass Fitness for Duty requirements and site security requirements to obtain unescorted access.
  • Ability to work under high stress conditions
  • Ability and willingness to work in radiation-controlled areas and radioactively contaminated areas

Responsibilities

  • Actively engage in a 2-year rotational program to participate on a variety of outage teams and enhance core leadership and technical skills.
  • Successfully complete curriculum including virtual, classroom and hands-on training at the GVH Services Training Facilities in Wilmington, NC and San Jose, CA.
  • Perform on-site reactor services of systems and equipment during plant outages.
  • Maintain strong safety mindset to assure the executed work reflects the technical requirements within GE safety standards.
  • Receive technical training, mentorship, and coaching from world-class technologists and experienced technical managers.
  • Participate in development training and networking with business leadership and other development program members.
