About The Position

The Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, a unique global network of policy research centers, is seeking a program assistant to work with scholars in our Washington, DC-based Nuclear Policy Program. The Carnegie Nuclear Policy Program works to strengthen international security by diagnosing acute nuclear risks, informing debates on solutions, and engaging international actors to effect change. The program's work spans nuclear deterrence, disarmament, arms control, nonproliferation, security, and energy.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Experience in providing logistical support
  • Experience in providing budgetary support
  • Experience in providing event support
  • Excellent teamwork skills
  • Ability to balance multiple competing tasks successfully
  • Attention to detail even under time pressure

Responsibilities

  • Provide administrative and secretarial support
  • Make travel arrangements
  • Prepare expense reports
  • Perform database work
  • Handle web postings
  • Coordinate meetings and events
  • Interface with the international public policy community
  • Help organize a possible Carnegie International Nuclear Policy Conference in 2027
  • Assist in the preparation of grant reports and budgets
  • Assist in monthly financial reviews of grant spending
