The Non-Secure Detention Teacher is responsible for providing success-oriented, short-term educational instruction that enables students to develop competencies and skills to function successfully. This role involves developing and facilitating lesson plans, supervising classes, organizing supplies, and delivering personalized instruction to each student. The teacher will also collaborate with the youth home school district of record or last attended to plan and implement educational activities, create and distribute educational content, and ensure a clean and organized classroom environment. Additionally, the position requires observing and reporting on student performance and behaviors, providing pre-crisis intervention and conflict resolution using TCI principles, and recommending appropriate reward and consequence outcomes. The teacher will monitor and develop curriculum based on individualized student needs and classroom modifications, ensuring compliance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations, as well as agency policies and procedures. The role also includes performing other duties as assigned.
