About The Position

Sharp Rees-Stealy Medical Group is seeking an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant to join their Urgent Care Department. This is a full-time salaried position at 1.0FTE (160 hours/month) with multiple shift options available, including 6-, 8-, 10-, and 12-hour shifts. The department operates at 6 outpatient clinic sites throughout San Diego County: Chula Vista, Downtown, Santee, Otay Ranch, Sorrento Mesa, and Rancho Bernardo. Clinics are open from 8 am to 8 pm, 365 days a year, with no overnight shifts. The role involves practicing a wide spectrum of emergency-based medicine, including headaches, abdominal workups, chest pains, laceration repairs, I&D, dislocations, and eye injuries. Each site offers in-house onsite lab, radiology, and pharmacy services, providing comprehensive support for patient care. There is a collaborative practice environment with experienced Urgent Care physicians and APPs, including opportunities to perform a variety of office-based procedures.

Requirements

Minimum two (2) years of full-time NP/PA experience in emergency medicine or high-acuity urgent care required.
Active, unrestricted California NP or PA license required.
Current board certification in applicable specialty required.
Comfortable practicing independently.

Nice To Haves

Five (5) years experience in emergency medicine or high-acuity urgent care preferred.

Responsibilities

Manage a broad spectrum of urgent and emergent conditions.
Practice emergency-based medicine including headaches, abdominal workups, chest pains, laceration repairs, I&D, dislocations, and eye injuries.
Perform a variety of office-based procedures.
Collaborate with experienced Urgent Care physicians and APPs.
