About The Position

This position involves utilizing advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills to provide healthcare to individuals and families, with an emphasis on health promotion and disease prevention. The role requires a high level of customer service to foster positive relationships. The Trauma/Acute Care Surgery department is a collaborative team environment that embraces learning while treating a diverse patient population. The candidate will provide first assist coverage in the Operating Room (OR) for trauma surgeons, with rotations among other APPs in the department. The work is primarily hospital-based with minimal clinic time.

Requirements

Master’s or Doctorate degree in Nursing or master’s degree in Physician Assistant Studies from an accredited program.
Current licensure as a registered nurse in MN
Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in MN
Current certification in CPR.
National certification, in applicable area.
Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.

Nice To Haves

Background in Trauma.
At least 2 years NP/PA experience with a background working in Trauma/Acute Care Surgery or General Surgery.
