About The Position

The Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant utilizes advanced health assessment, knowledge, and decision-making skills, while working both independently and in collaboration with physicians and other health care professionals. The NP/PA will provide health care to individuals and families, emphasizing health promotion and disease prevention, caring for patients age 18+. Position requires high level of customer service skills to establish and enhance positive relationships with patients, co-workers, and others. Join a large, established department featuring 62 physicians and 23 APPs. Hospitalists provide coverage for Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center and Essentia Health Duluth, located on the same campus and connected via an indoor skywalk system. Additionally, these sites provide secondary and tertiary care services to patients across a wide region in northern Wisconsin and north-central and eastern Minnesota. Essentia Health St. Mary’s Medical Center is a 350-bed tertiary care hospital, Level I-certified Trauma Center, home to a consistently top-ranked cardiovascular program, and a Thrombectomy-Capable Stroke Center. Typical team workload includes cross-coverage of approximately 230–270 patients per night, plus 15–20 admissions. Open ICU; ventilator management is not required. Procedures are not required.

Requirements

NP: Current licensure as a registered nurse in appropriate state.
NP: Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner in appropriate state.
NP: Current certification in CPR.
NP: National certification in applicable area.
NP: Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
PA: Current licensure as a physician assistant in appropriate state.
PA: Current certification in CPR.
PA: National certification.
PA: Successful completion of Essentia Health credentialing process prior to practice.
