About The Position

The Division of Gastroenterology at Massachusetts General Hospital is seeking an experienced Advanced Practice Provider (APP) to join a fast-paced, ambulatory, academic gastroenterology practice. The APP will work under the supervision of the APP Manager for gastroenterology, pancreatic/biliary attending physicians, and the Physician Director of the pancreatic/biliary team. This role is crucial for care delivery and continuity for patients with general GI, pancreatic, and biliary conditions. The position involves 8 (4-hour) clinical sessions and 2 (4-hour) administrative sessions weekly. Some clinical sessions may be dedicated to triaging patients for endoscopic procedures. The APP will collaborate with physicians, other APPs, nurses, medical assistants, and patient care coordinators to provide direct patient care within a team-based approach for various GI diseases and disorders, including new, urgent, and follow-up visits.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree in Nursing/Physician Assistant required.
  • Advanced Practice Registered Nurse [APRN-NP - State License] required.
  • Physician Assistant [State License] required.
  • Skilled in taking medical histories to assess medical condition and interpret findings.
  • Ability to maintain quality control standards.
  • Ability to react calmly and effectively in emergency situations.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt and apply guidelines and procedures.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and establish/maintain effective working relationships with patients, medical staff and the public.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience as a Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant (0-1 year preferred).

Responsibilities
