About The Position
This is a locum tenens position for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in Emergency Medicine. The role involves providing comprehensive emergency medical care to patients in the Emergency Department during night shifts. The average daily volume is 93 encounters, with a general ED patient mix. Critical care and ICU backup are available.
Requirements
- Active certification through AANP/ANCC
- Active TN RN License
- TN NP License
- TN DEA with Prescriptive Authority
- Active DEA and CDS required
- ACLS certification
- PALS certification
- Hospital Privileges Required: Yes
- Case logs for past 2 years
- Preeclampsia-Eclampsia CME
- MMR/Varicella immunity documentation
- TB test
Nice To Haves
- 2 years of recent experience preferred; new grads considered
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients presenting to the ED during night shifts.
- Manage a high volume of patient encounters (approximately 93 per day total department).
- Collaborate with supervising physicians and other advanced practice providers.
- Perform patient assessments, order and interpret diagnostic tests, and develop treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate documentation and comply with facility policies.
