About The Position

Requirements
- Current Texas Nurse Practitioner license or Texas Physician Assistant license (or ability to obtain)
- Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Medicine experience in a hospital emergency department setting
- ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
- BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
- PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
Nice To Haves
- Experience working in high-volume emergency departments preferred
- Proficiency with Epic electronic medical records system preferred
- Strong clinical decision-making skills and ability to work independently
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for collaborative emergency care
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high-acuity emergency medicine environment
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive emergency medical care to patients in a high-volume emergency department with 30,000+ annual visits
- Assess, diagnose, and treat acute injuries and illnesses in a fast-paced ER environment
- Perform emergency procedures including wound repair, splinting, and other urgent care interventions
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests including laboratory work and imaging studies
- Collaborate with emergency physicians, nursing staff, and multidisciplinary healthcare teams
- Document patient encounters accurately and efficiently using Epic EMR system
- Participate in trauma response as part of a designated Trauma Center
- Provide patient education and discharge planning for emergency department patients
