About The Position
This is an ongoing coverage need for an Emergency Medicine NP/PA. The role involves providing coverage at facilities in Marshfield, Minocqua, and Rice Lake, working in combined Emergency Medicine/Urgent Care departments. The average patient per shift is between 12-20. The patient population includes all ages. The EMR system used is Cerner, and credentialing takes approximately 60 days.
Requirements
- Active Wisconsin licensure
- Board certification
- AHA BLS, ACLS, PALS and ATLS certifications
- Minimum 1-year Emergency Medicine experience or equivalent
- Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) degree focused on an NP specialty (e.g., family practice, adult-gerontology, pediatrics) or Master of Science in Physician Assistant Studies (MPAS) degree from an accredited program
- Active and unencumbered advanced practice registered nurse (APRN) license in Wisconsin
- National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
- Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Wisconsin
- National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)

Responsibilities
- Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
- Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests
- Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
- Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices.
- Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
- Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
- Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
