About The Position

This is an ongoing coverage need for an Emergency Medicine Nurse Practitioner (NP) or Physician Assistant (PA) at a Level III trauma center. The average daily patient volume is 36. An onsite orientation is required one day prior to the first scheduled shift. The position is for an independent contractor (1099) and does not include typical W-2 employment benefits. Credentialing takes approximately 30 days.

Requirements

  • Active Michigan licensure
  • Board certification
  • AHA BLS certification
  • Minimum 1-year Emergency Medicine experience or equivalent
  • Active Michigan licensure
  • National certification as an NP in a relevant specialty area by a recognized certifying body (e.g., American Academy of Nurse Practitioners [AANP])
  • Active and unencumbered physician assistant (PA) license in Michigan
  • National certification from the National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA)
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical setting relevant to their specialty

Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive patient assessments to diagnose and treat a variety of medical conditions
  • Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
  • Order and interpret diagnostic tests
  • Prescribe medications and manage chronic conditions
  • Provide patient education and counseling on healthy lifestyle choices
  • Perform procedures as permitted by state regulations and APP specialty
  • Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare providers to ensure coordinated care
  • Document patient care accurately and thoroughly
