About The Position
This is a Locum Tenens position for a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant specializing in Family Medicine in Arcata, CA. The role involves providing outpatient clinical care to a mixed patient population of pediatrics and adults, including managing chronic pain conditions. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 8 am to 5 pm, with an average daily patient volume of 18. The position requires proficiency in the Epic EMR system and timely chart closure within 72 hours. Support staff, including RNs and MAs, will be available.
Requirements
- Board Certified (BC)
- Licensed in CA
- DEA required
- BLS certification
- CA Controlled Substance Education Course Certificate
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar setting
- Chart closure within 72 hours
- Epic EMR proficiency
Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive family medicine care to a mixed patient population of pediatrics and adults.
- Manage chronic pain conditions as part of the overall patient caseload.
- Maintain an average patient volume of 18 patients per day (PPD) in an outpatient setting.
- Ensure accurate and timely medical chart closure within 72 hours of patient encounters.
- Collaborate effectively with support staff including RNs and MAs.
