About The Position

HireNow Staffing is actively recruiting a seasoned, highly skilled Emergency Medicine Coastal Acute Care Provider (NP/PA) to join one of our valued client partners. This full-time 1099 independent contractor opportunity is ideal for an experienced Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant with a strong emergency medicine background who thrives in autonomous clinical environments while collaborating with physicians and multidisciplinary care teams. The successful candidate will provide high-quality emergency care across two modern community emergency departments located near Islamorada in the Florida Keys. Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.
  • Active Florida NP or PA license, or eligibility to obtain licensure before employment.
  • Minimum two (2) years of recent Emergency Medicine experience as an Advanced Practice Provider.
  • Current certifications in: ACLS, BLS, PALS, ATLS
  • Experience practicing independently within an Emergency Department.
  • Strong clinical decision-making and emergency assessment skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
  • Authorized to work in the United States.

Nice To Haves

  • Three or more years of Emergency Department APP experience.
  • Experience practicing within community hospitals or critical access emergency departments.
  • Previous Cerner EMR experience.
  • Experience managing a broad range of emergency medical conditions across adult and pediatric populations.
  • Strong procedural skills and comfort working in lower-volume emergency settings requiring independent clinical judgment.
  • Demonstrated history of excellent patient satisfaction and quality outcomes.
  • Stable employment history demonstrating long-term commitment and career progression.

Responsibilities

  • Independently evaluate, diagnose, and treat patients presenting with emergent and urgent medical conditions.
  • Perform comprehensive physical assessments and formulate evidence-based treatment plans.
  • Stabilize critically ill or injured patients while collaborating with emergency physicians and clinical staff.
  • Perform common emergency department procedures within scope of practice.
  • Order, interpret, and analyze laboratory studies, diagnostic imaging, and other clinical testing.
  • Document patient encounters accurately using Cerner Electronic Medical Record (EMR).
  • Manage patient flow efficiently while maintaining exceptional standards of quality and patient safety.
  • Coordinate care with physicians, specialists, nursing staff, EMS personnel, and ancillary departments.
  • Respond rapidly to changing patient conditions while exercising sound clinical judgment.
  • Maintain compliance with hospital policies, regulatory standards, and emergency medicine best practices.
