About The Position

Language Trainers is seeking a freelance Norwegian Teacher for a client in Baltimore, United States. This is a one-to-one, general/hybrid course with a total of 20 hours, consisting of two-hour sessions. The student is a lower-intermediate speaker, aged 65 and over, who wishes to improve their Norwegian for communication with family and friends. The student's preferred schedule is once per week on Tuesdays or Thursdays at 16:00 EST, with a preferred start date of 2026-10-01. In-person sessions can take place in Reisterstown, MD 21136 or Lutherville, MD 21093, and online sessions will be conducted via Zoom. The schedule and location may be flexible based on availability. The hourly rate is negotiable.

Requirements

Native Norwegian speaker and/or hold a relevant teaching qualification.
Experience as a language teacher, translator, or interpreter.
Valid work permit/visa.
Live within 20 miles of Reisterstown, MD 21136 or Lutherville, MD 21093.
Ability to provide CV with references.
Availability for the specified schedule or flexibility to negotiate.
Earliest possible start date.

Responsibilities

Provide customized language training to a lower-intermediate Norwegian student.
Conduct one-to-one sessions, either in-person or online.
Adapt to the student's schedule and learning needs.
Communicate with Language Trainers regarding student progress and course details.
