The Operations Intern will play a crucial role in supporting the underwriting process by assisting Underwriters (UWs) and Account Managers (AMs) with general underwriting administration, processing, and clerical/office support activities. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in the insurance industry and develop valuable skills in data analysis, project management, and risk assessment.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a bachelor’s degree in business, Finance, Economics, Risk Management, or related fields.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a hybrid work environment.
  • Technically adept and digitally savvy, with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) and data analysis tools.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Demonstrated problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
  • Enthusiastic and proactive attitude with a willingness to learn and take on new challenges.

Responsibilities

  • Utilize internal and external resources to gather and analyze data to aid in decision-making processes.
  • Prepare reports and presentations based on data analysis to support underwriting and risk management activities.
  • Take ownership of projects related to underwriting, analytics, and risk management.
  • Ensure timely completion of projects with a focus on accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Collaborate with team members to achieve project goals and objectives.
  • Assist operations teams in preparing, processing, and delivering new and renewal insurance proposals.
  • Maintain accurate records and documentation for underwriting activities.
  • Perform clerical tasks such as filing, scanning, and data entry.
  • Engage in special projects as assigned by supervisors.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of process improvements and innovative solutions.
