About The Position

The North American Alpine Racing Manager leads Salomon's alpine race strategy across the United States and Canada, driving brand credibility, athlete partnerships, and grassroots development within the competitive ski racing community. This role directly impacts sales growth, market share, and profitability in the Alpine Race segment while ensuring race product excellence. The position serves as the primary liaison between athletes, coaches, clubs, race retailers, sales teams, and the Global Race Department.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 3–5 years of experience within alpine ski racing or the ski industry, preferably in race brand management, sales, or technical product roles.
  • Alpine ski racing background preferred – deep understanding of North American alpine race structure, the sport of ski racing, clubs, coaches and athletes, and specialty race retailers.
  • Strong network within race coaching and athlete community.
  • Race ski tuning and mounting experience requires.
  • Budget management experience.
  • Ability to travel extensively throughout the year, especially during race season.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, with an emphasis on Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.

Nice To Haves

  • Boot fitting experience a plus.
  • Experience working across U.S. and Canadian race structures a plus.
  • French language proficiency a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support the development and execute a comprehensive North American Alpine Race strategy aligned with category leadership.
  • Support identification of new business opportunities within the race segment.
  • Collaborate with Alpine Marketing team for GTM excellence of sell-in, sell-through, and promotional programs.
  • Maintain strategic relationships with national governing bodies to ensure regulatory alignment and maximize brand visibility.
  • Partner with sales reps and specialty race retailers across North America to provide best in class support and service to the ski racing community.
  • Manage the allocated budget for North American race initiatives.
  • Function as brand ambassador within the race community.
  • Manage North American race athlete team (junior through elite).
  • Oversee race product allocation and distribution to contracted athletes, clubs, and coaches.
  • Coordinate race service: on-hill support, tuning, testing and boot fitting.
  • Coordinate and execute all race testing from junior through elite levels.
  • Coordinate sample and test inventory planning with Global Supply to support race events and testing timelines.
  • Support specialty retail sell-through with Fit Nights and athlete visibility.
  • On-site presence at key regional and national events.
  • Provide race segment insights to support forecasting and inventory planning.
  • Support regional sales reps with race clinics, product education, and key account strategy.
  • Participate in seasonal sell-in meetings and key dealer presentations as the Alpine Race category expert.
  • Serve as the liaison for product information and market intelligence between North America and Global Race Department.
  • Provide market insights and feedback to global race department to inform product development and strategy.
  • Collaborate with race promoters across Europe to drive a cohesive Salomon Race strategy.
