Nonprofit Human Resources Director (1-person HR Dept Generalist)

COLLABORATIVE FOR CHILDRENHouston, TX
Hybrid

About The Position

We are specifically seeking a proven HR Generalist leader with recent experience operating in a one- or two-person HR department, where they personally managed both the tactical and strategic aspects of a full-cycle employee lifecycle. This experience is essential for success in this position. This is NOT a position for someone who has spent years leading HR teams and/or delegating HR work, and has been removed from day-to-day execution. The HR Director will be required to seamlessly shift between executive-level planning and hand-on HR execution while supporting a mission-driven organization committed to excellence and impact. What makes this opportunity unique is that unlike many HR Director positions, we require an HR leader who is both strategic and an HR practitioner. You must be comfortable being the primary (and, only) HR resource while collaborating with executive leadership, general management, employees, external vendors, and the Board’s HR Committee. You will work hands-on with ALL aspects of HR – starting with managing the Candidate Experience and continuing into all aspects of cultivating an optimal Employee Experience, inclusive of a top-notch culture for a dispersed workforce of approximately 37 employees. You will ensure compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, as well develop and maintain policies, procedures and employment practices that reduce organizational risk. You will evaluate and administer compensation and benefits programs, as well as the performance management and talent development processes. You will champion organizational values and employee engagement initiatives to foster a work culture that promotes collaboration, respect, innovation, and continuous improvement.
