About The Position

The Non Reg Medical Assistant provides patient care under the direction of a physician or other licensed provider, performing selected duties to promote health and delivering care according to practice protocols and procedures. This full-time, outpatient role is with Barnes-Jewish St. Peters Hospital’s General Surgery team in St. Peters and O’Fallon, Missouri. The position works 40 hours per week on the day shift and does not require call, weekend, or holiday work. It is benefit eligible and may qualify for a $2,500 sign-on bonus for candidates with national certification.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• Certified Medical Assistant certification is listed as a preferred requirement.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification is listed as a preferred requirement.

Nice To Haves

• National certification is required to be eligible for the $2,500 sign-on bonus.

Responsibilities

• Clean, prepare, and stock supplies in exam rooms.
• Obtain vital signs and patient history, and maintain accurate and prompt charting in the patient’s record.
• Perform clinical skills such as phlebotomy, electrocardiography (EKGs), point-of-care testing, and injections.
• Triage calls, provide test and lab results to patients, and present relevant information to the provider using correct medical terminology.
• Assist the provider by preparing patients for exams, procedures, and treatments.
