About The Position

BJC Medical Group is hiring a full-time, benefit-eligible Medical Assistant (Non Reg) in Alton, Illinois. The position is with Neurology Associates of Alton, located on the campus of Alton Memorial Hospital. The Medical Assistant provides patient care under the direction of a physician or other licensed provider, performs selected duties that promote health, and delivers care according to practice protocols and procedures. The schedule is 40 hours per week on day shift, with no call, weekends, or holidays.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED.
• No experience required.
• No supervisor experience required.

Nice To Haves

• Certified Medical Assistant certification.
• Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation certification.

Responsibilities

• Clean, prepare, and stock supplies in exam rooms.
• Obtain vital signs and patient history, and maintain accurate and prompt charting in patient records.
• Perform clinical skills including phlebotomy, electrocardiography (EKGs), point-of-care testing, and injections.
• Triage calls, provide test and lab results to patients, and present relevant information to providers using correct medical terminology.
• Assist providers by preparing patients for exams, procedures, and treatments.
