About The Position
The Medical Assistant (MA) provides medical assistance under the direction of a physician or other licensed provider. The position performs select duties that promote health in patient care and delivers care according to practice protocols and procedures. BJC Medical Group at Northwest HealthCare provides primary care for patients of all ages. BJC Medical Group is a physician-led, multi-specialty organization of BJC HealthCare with more than 600 doctors and advanced practice providers. It has provided care across more than 145 locations and over 25 specialties in the greater St. Louis, mid-Missouri, and southern Illinois areas since 1994. This is a full-time, 40-hour-per-week, day-shift position in Florissant, Missouri. The position has no call, weekend, or holiday work and is benefit eligible. It is eligible for a $2,500 sign-on bonus.
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED.
- Certification or registration in area of expertise.
- No experience required.
- No supervisor experience required.
Nice To Haves
- Less than two years of experience.
- Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) certification.
Responsibilities
- Clean, prepare, and stock supplies in exam rooms.
- Obtain vital signs and patient history, and maintain accurate and timely charting in the patient's record.
- Perform clinical skills such as phlebotomy, electrocardiography (EKGs), point-of-care testing, and injections.
- Triage calls, provide test and lab results to patients, and present relevant information to the provider using correct medical terminology.
- Provide medical assistance under the direction of a physician or other licensed provider and deliver care according to practice protocols and procedures.
