About The Position

Meyer Utility Structures, an Arcosa subsidiary, is seeking a Non-Plate Buyer to support its plants in Clinton, Illinois; Fort Worth, Texas; and Tulsa, Oklahoma. The Buyer performs supply chain and logistics functions that may include material procurement, production planning, inventory control, outsourcing, vendor selection, and distribution. The role creates integrated processes among internal functions such as operations, purchasing, and logistics, as well as outside suppliers. Meyer Utility Structures designs and fabricates concrete, lattice, and tubular steel structures for transmission, distribution, and substation applications.

Requirements

• Intermediate to advanced computer skills.
• Strong organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• At least 2 years of procurement experience.

Nice To Haves

• At least 1 year of manufacturing experience is preferred.
• Experience purchasing steel is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate incoming movement of hardware, fasteners, structural components, and delivery services to ensure materials are available and delivered in time to meet production schedules.
• Compile data on order volume, production schedules, and forecasts, and apply statistical methods to estimate future material requirements.
• Negotiate favorable terms and volume discounts with approved suppliers.
• Prepare and process purchase orders for goods, services, and supplies for customer-related business processes or internal use.
• Plan, schedule, and monitor inbound movement of materials from suppliers, with emphasis on import/export logistics and documentation.
• Determine material requirements and coordinate the efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering.
• Coordinate information and activities with other team members.
• May coordinate or exchange information with third parties, vendors, or customers.
