About The Position

Boeing Commercial Airplanes (BCA) Fabrication is seeking a Non-Destructive Test Quality Multi-Family Manager (Level K) to join our team in North Charleston, South Carolina. This role involves managing a team of Non-Destructive Testing (NDT) technicians and specialists, fostering a culture that prioritizes safety, quality, and continuous improvement. The manager will promote and maintain a safe and healthy work environment, interface with Operations, Quality, Engineering, regulatory agencies, and suppliers/partners to resolve issues impacting airplane build, test, and delivery. They will develop and maintain strategic partnerships, monitor group performance, and act as the initial point of escalation for team challenges. This role requires demonstrating Boeing values, leading change management, and proactively communicating with leadership, peers, and customers. A key aspect is building an organizational culture that values open communication and first-time quality, and creating a culture of continuous improvement by communicating and deploying enterprise best practices and employee engagement to improve cost, quality, delivery, employee job satisfaction, and customer satisfaction. The position also provides education, coaching, and support to ensure compliance with Quality Management System (QMS) requirements and standards. Travel may be required up to 10% of the time.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience with Quality and/or Manufacturing processes and organizations
  • 5+ years of experience developing and maintaining relationships and partnerships with stakeholders (i.e. Customers, suppliers, peers and/or partners)
  • 5+ years of experience in NDI (non-destructive inspection) or NDT (non-destructive test)
  • 5+ years of experience managing teams
  • Leadership experience with technical employees
  • Candidates must have at least one year of experience in a leadership role (team leader, temp manager, large scale cross functional project/program management, or formal manager experience) OR have completed the Boeing internal course "Exploring Leadership"
  • Successful candidates for this job must satisfy the Company’s Conflict of Interest (COI) assessment process.

Nice To Haves

  • Current or previous NDT Level II / III certification in one or more NDT methods (ASNT Preferred)
  • 3+ years of experience in program or project management
  • FAA Airframe and Powerplant

Responsibilities

  • Proactively communicates with leadership team, peers, and customers.
