About The Position

Performs basic nursing skills and/or serves under the direction and supervision of the practice physician and/or registered nursing staff. This position supports patient visits and clinic operations by preparing patients and exam rooms, assisting with exams and procedures, coordinating appointments and referrals, and completing related administrative tasks.

Requirements

High school diploma or equivalent.
Graduate of a Medical Assistant Program or one year of experience in a clinical setting.
Obtain Basic Life Support certification within 30 days of hire.
Ability to use and care for equipment, including printers, embossers, and computers.
Ability to communicate effectively with staff and patients.
Ability to adapt to changing environments.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Ability to organize and prioritize work.
Ability to bend, stoop, and reach, and to stand and walk during an 8–12-hour shift.
Able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 20 pounds frequently, and up to 10 pounds constantly.

Nice To Haves

Completion of healthcare education coursework.
One year of healthcare experience.

Responsibilities

Greet and escort patients to exam rooms; obtain initial information and vital signs in preparation for the physician visit.
Prepare exam rooms, maintaining cleanliness and ensuring supplies are available.
Assist with and/or perform exams, tests, and procedures.
Schedule appointments and arrange referral contacts as needed.
Assist providers during patient examinations and procedures.
Educate patients on follow-up expectations.
Maintain required quality-control testing logs.
Ensure medical equipment is in proper working condition.
Assist patients with completing medical documentation.
Perform office administrative tasks, including answering phones, taking messages, copying, printing, data entry, assisting with cash deposits, and other closing duties.
