All drivers run daily routes with frequent stops and load packages onto hand trucks before unloading products at each stop in the order designated by the Transportation Department Manager. The driver operates in a cross-dock model, picking up a loaded truck from a nightly delivery at the assigned loading dock and returning the empty truck to the assigned lot at the end of the route. The role may also occasionally assist with loading trucks, palletizing products, and other duties assigned by a supervisor or manager. Drivers operate on local routes and are responsible for delivering products efficiently, verifying deliveries with customers, handling complaints professionally, and following company and Department of Transportation safety procedures. The work involves frequent lifting and moving of product, reaching, bending, and twisting, sometimes in varied weather and at customer locations with ramps, stairs, or docks.
