About The Position

Dohrn Transfer is seeking a full-time Non CDL Driver at its Sturgeon, Missouri terminal. The driver operates a non-CDL vehicle between customer locations and terminals to deliver and pick up freight at dock height. The position pays $23.38 per hour to start, increasing to $27.38 per hour after the first year. The schedule is Monday through Friday on the day shift, and drivers are home daily. Eligible full-time drivers may earn a quarterly safety incentive of $250, up to $1,000 annually.

Requirements

• Be at least 21 years old.
• Have completed high school or equivalent.
• Hold a valid driver's license and have at least 3 years of driving experience.
• Have a Class C endorsement if in Illinois or a #2 endorsement if in Indiana.
• Possess only one valid driver's license issued by the driver's state of residence; drivers who recently transferred from another state must provide a copy of the former license or information to verify it.
• Provide information on all driver's licenses held within the previous 36 months.
• Have no DUI/OWI or reckless-driving citation or conviction within the previous 5 years.
• Maintain an acceptable Motor Vehicle Record (MVR).
• Pass a Department of Transportation (DOT) physical examination and functional screen.
• Consent to a pre-employment drug screen and receive a negative result.
• Have negative controlled-substance and alcohol results from prior employers for the past 3 years and no prior evidence of controlled-substance use.
• Have no refusal to submit to an alcohol or controlled-substance test within the past 3 years, including pre-employment testing.
• Consent to a 10-year work-history check; list and explain gaps of 30 days or more, and provide documentation if requested.
• Be able to read and write English and perform simple mathematical calculations.
• Have excellent attendance.
• Meet the listed physical requirements, including lifting and carrying freight weighing up to 100 pounds and pushing or pulling up to 60 pounds of horizontal force.

Responsibilities

• Safely drive a non-CDL vehicle while transporting freight between terminals and customer locations.
• Load and unload the vehicle, independently or with assistance from dockworkers; use mechanical freight-handling equipment where available and appropriate.
• Frequently lift, pull, push, and carry freight.
• Secure freight using straps or other methods when required.
• Inspect the vehicle for defects and safe operating conditions as required by law and company policy.
• Perform duties in accordance with company policies and procedures and comply with federal, state, and local regulations for safe commercial motor vehicle operation.
• Perform other duties as needed.
