Box Truck Route Delivery Driver - M-F Day Shift
About The Position
Hillyard, Inc. is seeking a Non-CDL Delivery Driver for its Operations team in Lexington, Kentucky. The driver operates a commercial box truck on an established local route, delivers products to customers, and provides professional customer service while representing the company. The role offers a Monday–Friday day-shift schedule, a consistent 40-hour work week, and home every night, with no overnight routes. Drivers use pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment to load and unload deliveries. They verify orders, secure cargo, inspect the vehicle, complete delivery paperwork, use company communication tools, and communicate customer needs to internal teams. The position pays $20 per hour and includes a bonus program and listed benefits. Hillyard is a family-owned company that has operated since 1907.
Requirements
- Previous experience operating a box truck, straight truck, route truck, or other commercial delivery vehicle.
- Strong commitment to safe driving and a good driving record.
- Customer-focused attitude and excellent communication skills.
- Dependability, punctuality, and self-motivation.
- Ability to work independently while managing a daily route.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
- Basic computer skills, including email communication.
Nice To Haves
- Experience loading and unloading deliveries using pallet jacks or forklifts.
Responsibilities
- Safely operate a commercial box truck on an established local delivery route.
- Load, unload, and deliver products to customer locations using pallet jacks, forklifts, and other material-handling equipment.
- Verify deliveries for accuracy and ensure products arrive safely and on time.
- Secure cargo and perform routine vehicle inspections.
- Provide friendly, professional customer service and build positive customer relationships.
- Communicate customer needs and delivery information with internal teams.
- Assist with inventory accuracy and report discrepancies when necessary.
- Complete delivery paperwork and use company communication tools throughout the day.
