About The Position

Meyer is seeking an experienced, dedicated Box Truck Driver to make route deliveries. The driver operates company trucks, completes required paperwork, and works with internal departments to ensure products reach customers on time and in compliance with DOT regulations. This role involves operating and positioning delivery trucks, inspecting and maintaining vehicles, and communicating maintenance issues to Fleet Management. The position pays $22.00 per hour and includes a quarterly driver safety bonus. The schedule is Monday through Friday, 5:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.; end times vary on most days depending on workload and coverage.

Requirements

• 1–3 years of previous experience driving 26–28-foot box trucks or another commercial motor vehicle over 10,001 pounds.
• Valid truck driver license and the relevant endorsement for the specific state.
• Willingness to submit to drug screens and background checks.
• Maintain a valid DOT medical examiner’s card.
• No recent moving or driving violations and ability to remain insurable at the standard insurance market rate.
• Ability to perform heavy lifting of 75 pounds or more.

Responsibilities

• Drive company trucks to make route deliveries and meet delivery schedules.
• Maneuver trucks into position to load and unload delivery trucks.
• Comply with truck-driving rules and regulations.
• Inspect vehicles for mechanical items and safety issues, and perform preventative maintenance.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, and violations.
• Complete paperwork required for company and DOT regulations.
• Communicate with Fleet Management about maintenance issues and preventative maintenance of delivery trucks.
• Operate and drive a forklift.
